Annotating PDF materials enables you to record thoughts, impressions, or ideas for usage within each individual source.
To annotate a PDF - select the citation in your EndNote library and click on the Adobe icon in the Reference Panel.
To highlight a passage of text:
- Select a passage of text with your cursor and click on the Highlight Text icon at the top of the Reference Panel. The selected text will now be highlighted in flourescent yellow.
- To cancel highlighting, select the relevant patch of highlighted text, right-click on your mouse and select Delete Annotation.
To add a Sticky Note to a passage of text:
- Select a passage of text with your cursor and click on the Sticky Note icon at the top of the Reference Panel. A speech bubble-shaped note will appear to the right of the selected text.
- Double-click the note and enter your text.
- To delete the sticky note, click on the note itself, right-click on your mouse and select Delete Annotation.
To underline and/or strikeout a passage of text:
- Select a passage of text with your cursor and click on either the Underline Text or Strikeout Text icons at the top of the Reference Panel. The selected text will now be either underlined by a thin blue line, or struck out with a thin red line.
- To cancel underline/strikeout, select the relevant patch of text, right-click on your mouse and select Delete Annotation.
