Read and Publish Agreements for Open Access Publishing

The Library has a number of “Read and Publish” deals that allow Koc University corresponding authors to publish open access in selected journals without payment of an Article Processing Charge (APC).

British Medical Journal (BMJ) Agreement

Agreement	What you need to do
Within the scope of the agreement signed with the British Medical Journal (BMJ) as of 2025, Koç University corresponding authors will not pay any Article Processing Charge (APC) for open-access articles to be published in “Standard Collection Hybrid” and “Gold Open Access” Journals Article processing charges are covered for original research articles published in the following journals: All BMJ Standard Collection titles BMJ Gold Open Access journals There will be no limit to the number of articles to be published.	An accepted manuscript is eligible for BMJ when the corresponding author's primary affiliation is Koç University. Institutional affiliation and e-mail address (@ku.edu.tr) should be used. The number of OA publishing under this agreement is unlimited. This agreement covers “Original Research Articles” submitted between January 1st, 2025, and December 31st, 2025. Eligible Journals: “Standard Collection Hybrid” and “Gold Open Access” Journals
Excluded titles: "Non-Standart Collection Hybrid" Journals are excluded
Eligible article types: All fully peer-reviewed "Orginal Research Articles" newly published in BMJ's Standart Collection Hybrid and Gold Open Access journals are eligible.
Licenses options: Open access articles will be published, allowing reuse under a CC-BY-NC or CC-BY license.	Agreement Ends: December 31st, 2025
