Suna Kıraç Library TextBook Swap

Introduction

You can bring textbooks that are in good condition and that you no longer need to the Library throughout the year. By donating your textbooks, you can get priority in requesting books from the swap the following term and contribute to a more sustainable future!

We will continue collecting textbooks until Fall 2025 and initiate the fourth Textbook Swap in October 2025.

You can have the textbooks you need with the "Textbook Swap!"

  • You will earn badges for every book you bring to be swapped.
  • You will be able to use these badges as a priority to get the textbooks you need at the Textbook Swap in October 2025.

How to Make a Request?

  • You will earn badges for every book you bring to be swapped.
  • You will be able to use these badges as a priority to get the textbooks you need at the Textbook Swap in October 2025 (from October 6th onwards, all students can make requests)
  • You must fill in an online form to request textbooks;
    • Request Form
    • Please share the textbook information you want to take (use the list, mind the available copies)
  • You can request 1 textbook with a form, and for each request, fill in another form.
  • Maximum 3 books can be requested.

After the badge owners get the books they want from the textbook swap, it will be the turn of the other students (from October 6th, 2025 onwards). If the person does not get the books within three days after informed with mail that the books can be picked up from the Information Desk, it is the turn of the other requester on the fourth day.

Steps of Textbook Swap

1. When you want to bring (a) book/s for the TextBook Swap, please fill in the Bring Textbooks for SKL BookSwap form, either before coming to the library or use the QR code available at the Information Desk.

2. Deliver books to the Information Desk.

3. If you donated books for the campaign, do not forget to check your mails for our priority access & badge information mail.

If you did not, you will be available to make selections October 6th onwards.

4. The maximum number of books that students can get from the swap is 3.

5. In first round, students can request books relative to the number of books they donated. Even if a student donated more than 3 books, the maximum he/she can get is 3. However, these badge earning students have the right to make 3 more requests on the second round with all students.

6. The library staff checks the requests daily, but it can take 2 to 3 days to meet them relative to the total number of requests.

7. When the requests are prepared, they are left to the Information Desk for students to get them. Students are informed with the mail, and given 3 days to pick up the books. If the books are not picked up within 3 days, they are re-added to the book list.
