Institutional repositories are increasingly recognized as essential infrastructure at research-intensive universities. They primarily serve to collect, preserve, and disseminate the scholarly output of the institution's researchers.
A university-based institutional repository is defined as “a set of services that a university offers to the members of its community for the management and dissemination of digital materials created by the institution and its community members. It is most essentially an organizational commitment to the stewardship of these digital materials, including long-term preservation where appropriate, as well as organization and access or distribution” (Lynch, 2003).
KUHub Research fulfills this role at Koç University, supporting open access to academic work, enhancing research visibility, and contributing to the global exchange of knowledge.
KUHub Research is Koç University’s institutional academic repository. It brings together all scholarly outputs produced since the university's establishment in 1993, including articles, conference proceedings, theses, research data, and more.
The platform is designed in line with Open Access and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles. Through KUHub Research, users can freely access bibliographic records, full texts, and—when available—associated research data.
KUHub Research houses over 21,000 publications, 1,400+ projects, and profiles of more than 5,400 researchers, serving as a centralized hub for the university's academic output.
By providing open access to research outputs, KUHub Research increases the visibility of Koç University's scholars both nationally and internationally.
The platform features dedicated author profile pages, allowing researchers to showcase their work and connect with the global academic community.
KUHub Research supports open science initiatives by ensuring that research outputs are accessible and reusable, aligning with global standards for research transparency and reproducibility.
The repository aims to preserve and maintain Koç University's valuable academic legacy for future generations while serving the needs of today's researchers.
