Mendeley Institutional Edition : Basic Level Training

Mendeley is a free reference manager and an academic social network. Mendeley enables you to access your library, everywhere, easy referencing, building your research network, advance your career, and finding funding opportunities.

Preperation for the Training

 

Before the Mendeley training, you need to:

 

Make sure to download the latest version (Mendeley Desktop 1.19.3)

 

1.Create your Mendeley account

2. Download the Mendeley Desktop 

       https://www.mendeley.com/download-desktop/ 

 

3. Select the appropriate program for your computer's operating system:

 

            Windows: https://www.mendeley.com/download-desktop/

         MAC OS: https://www.mendeley.com/download-desktop/Mac%20OS

         Linux: https://www.mendeley.com/download-desktop/Linux/ 

 

4. Get tools and add-ons to further enhance your research:

 

             Web importer for Chrome Firefox, and Internet Explorer :

           Citation Plugin in Microsoft Word & LibreOffice: 

             https://www.mendeley.com/reference-management/citation-plugin 

 

Please follow the steps below to manage this list.

 

Creating Mendeley Accounts

STEP 1: To create your Mendeley Web and Mendeley Desktop Accounts please go to  www.mendeley.com

 

 

STEP 2. Use one of your e-mail addresses to sign up! It doesn't have to be your KU mail. (Note that you can sign in with your Elsevier username and password If you have already had an account)

 

 

 

STEP 3. To download Mendeley Desktop for Windows, MAC OS and Linux and to get the Web Importer/Citation Plugin tools please click on the Download button in  the top right corner of the homepage.

 

 

STEP 4: For the Mobile Apps please go to AppStore or Google Play!
