Istanbul International Library Staff Week 2018

Participants must organize their own accommodation and are responsible for covering their own accommodation costs.

Recommended hotels:

• Fuat Paşa Hotel is the most convenient in regards to accessing the University.
  For the event's purpose, daily prices at the Hotel have been determined as follows:  AVAILABILITY UNTIL FRIDAY MARCH 30th
  -> Bosphorus View Single Room - Breakfast included: 90 Euros (5 rooms for 5 nights available for the event)
  -> Land/Atrium View Single Room - Breakfast included: 60 Euros (2 rooms for 5 nights available for the event)
• The Central Palace Bosphorus Hotel is located just over the coastal road in Tarabya area.
  For the event's purpose, daily prices at the Hotel have been determined as follows:
  -> Garden View Single Room - Breakfast included: 105 Euros (5 rooms for 6 nights available for the event)
• Koc University Istinye Campus is situated at a very nice location close to the sea.
  For the event's purpose, daily prices at the Hotel have been determined as follows:
  -> Single Room - Breakfast or other meals are ΝΟΤ included: 80 Dollars (7 rooms for 6 nights available for the event) 
  -> Double Room - Breakfast or other meals are ΝΟΤ included: 95 Dollars (3 rooms for 6 nights available for the event

• Koc University Guest Houses: they are located inside the campus, at the Faculty members' houses area

  For the event's purpose, the daily price has been determined as follows:
  -> Single room with double bed - Breakfast or other meals are ΝΟΤ included: 65 Dollars (2 rooms for 6 nights available for the event)

*​Any other hotel close to the M2 metro line is a suitable choice with easy transportation. 

For the participants' easy transportation TO and FROM the campus as well as for all off campus visits, we will use shuttle buses during the whole week.

Haciosman metro station is the central station for the route TO and FROM the campus with the shuttle buses.  Depending on the daily program, the shuttle buses can make selective stops at convenient metro stations. 

In case participants would like to commute independently, they should inform the organizing committee and use one of the following Transportation options. 

* Shuttle buses will also stop at the recommended accommodation options. 

Istanbul (Turkish: İstanbul) is Turkey's most populous city as well as its cultural and financial hub. Located on both sides of the Bosphorus, the narrow strait between the Black Sea and the Marmara Sea, Istanbul bridges Asia and Europe both physically and culturally. Istanbul's population is estimated to be around 18 million people, making it also one of the largest cities in Europe and the world.

Istanbul is a city of almost 18 million people but no worries, you can commute easily using metro, buses, mini buses or tramvay.  For your transportation it would be better to purchase and use the Istanbul card which you can load and use in all public transportation.  The normal ticket fare is 5liras but the price is lower when using the card.  There are automatic machines at the airport where you can purchase it for 6liras and directly load as much money as you want.
