Document Supply Services

Our Document Supply Services involve to borrow books, journal articles and other materials from other libraries. The Interlibrary Loan Service is the next step after you cannot find your materials through the SKL catalog or our online resources.

Responsibility

As a user, you have responsibility on your ILL and ICLS books:

  • Picking up them on the time.
  • Returning them on the time. If you need extra time, you have to get contact responsible librarian. Otherwise, you have to pay fee for per extra day.
  • Keeping them on safe.

What are the responsibilities of the library user?

  • Please provide a complete and accurate citation for each item that you request.
  •  Please check the Online Catalog to determine if the Library owns the item that you need. If yes, it will not be requested from another library for you.
  • Plan ahead and be patient. The process takes time. Materials located out of the country may not arrive for several weeks.
  • The Library charges fines for overdue items to secure their prompt return and renewal. If you fail to return library materials, you will be charged the current market value of the item, a replacement fee, plus any fine incurred.
  • Pick up materials in a timely manner. Materials obtained through ILL are checked out for 2-3 weeks from the time the user is notified that the materials have arrived.
  • Picked up/ return materials at the Information Desk on the Basement Floor. Overdue fines will be billed to your Library account if materials are not returned on time.
  •  You are financially responsible for any damage to or loss of interlibrary materials, from the time you pick them up until you return them to library.
  • Books should be returned on the due date stamped on the ILL slip, so that it can be returned on time to the lending library. Do not return ILL books by using Self-check machines.
